Discovering Chloroplast

elodea drawStudents are preparing their own slides using the leaf of an aquatic plant called Elodea. They carefully remove a leaf and wet mount it on a glass slide. Under the microscope they scan through objectives to observe the rows of plant cells and can actually see the chloroplast. Chloroplast is the organelle that contains chlorophyll which carries out the process of photosynthesis. The children were very detailed and conducted impressive work!
