My students compare eubacteria and archaebacteria in both class and lab. These two kingdoms are unicellular prokaryotes that have vast differences in habitats. We used a graphic organizer to look at eubacteria and how they can be both helpful and harmful . Class discussions included pathogenic (harmful) eubacteria and our microbiome that keeps our immune system healthy. Students created play-doh anatomy models, sang songs, and even cultured the bacteria from their hands to observe different strains growing!
