Insect Metamorphosis

While studying the animals in the insect class, the students are raising meal worms from the larva stage through the pupa and finally to the adult darkling beetle. They added data to their log on a weekly basis and took note of the time as a larva. They also ran experiments on the meal worm to see how they reacted to stimuli and collected physical characteristics along with measurements. They observed the startle defense of the pupa in the resting stage while they wiggled and shook.
