Mealworm Data Collection

The students collected data while they raised over 200 mealworms from larvae to the adult darkling beetle. They monitored ten bins of larva on a daily basis and added to the data table on the idea wall. The number of larvae, number of chrysalis, and number of adult beetles were noted. Students cleaned, fed, and released the beetles outside on a daily basis. They also tested the mealworms ability to respond to stimuli. They ran experiments to test light, wind, moisture and smell stimuli. Speed of the mealworm was also predicted and calculated. Students worked on mean and median of time it took to go through full metamorphosis.
