Now that my students have mastered the anatomy and life cycle of the mushroom, they apply their knowledge to different species of mushrooms. They will observe and collect data on each mushroom and different adaptations for spore dispersal and reproduction. Special attention was made to locate the partial veil, annulus, stipe, universal veil, cap, and gills. They measured radius and diameter of the cap. Students also designed a creative entry in their science notebook over anatomy and the sexual and asexual reproduction of this fungi!
