After collecting data for four months, my students complete their analysis of the 83 monarch butterflies that they raised. They worked up percentages, mode, and created graphs to show monarchs vs. queens raised, males vs. females and how many tagged monarchs were released per month. The data team entered all the hand written data collected into excel and submitted into Monarch Watch to register tag numbers to Monarch Project 6. My students used the 5
pages of data to complete their statistical analysis and search for patterns that can be useful in raising future migration populations. Their results showed 52% males, 48% females, and October as the mode for most monarchs released.
